CBM

“Community Behavioral Management ” was founded in 2012 in Miami, Florida by two experienced Mental Health Targeted Case Managers, Lidice Carrillo and German Gomez. Carrillo and Gomez were brought together by a common belief that Children and Adults with serious and persistent mental illness in their Community lacked the necessary tools to be independent in the community with high level of functionality.

Determined to make a difference, Carrillo and Gomez founded Community Behavioral Management. Since opening its doors, Lidice Carrillo and German Gomez are carrying out the Community Behavioral Management vision and expand the scope of program services.

Community Behavioral Management provided targeted Case Manager Services to persons with serious and persistent mental illness and Behavior Analysis services to Children with Autism Spectrum disorder and other Behaviors problems in Miami-Dade County and Broward County. CBM is expanding its scope increasing the services and specialties within the community.

The Mission of Community Behavioral Management:

The Mission of Community Behavioral Management is to provide Case Management Services, Behavior Analysis services, Behavioral Health Services to assist eligible beneficiaries residing in the Community to optimize the functioning and independency of clients in the Community who have complex needs by coordinating the provision of quality treatment and support services in the most efficient and effective manner.

The Vision of Community Behavioral Management:

Community Behavioral Management will provide eligible Clients with the necessary tools to obtain their basic needs and goals which in turn allow each of them to develop into their full potential, capable of making responsible decisions as involved members of our community. Community Behavioral Management provides trainings approved by Florida Certification Board to Behavioral Health Case Managers and candidates.

Targeted Case Management

Services:

  • Conducting the assessment
  • Developing the recipient’s service plan
  • Working with the recipient and the recipient’s family to address issues related to implementation of the service plan. Services where the family is involved must clearly be directed to meeting the identified needs of the recipient.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of the service plan in meeting the identified needs of the recipient.
  • Linking and facilitating the recipient with appropriate services and resources identified in the service plan through referrals to reach desired goals. (Mental, Physical, Educational, Economic and Financial, Housing, Transportation, Legal, Vocational)
  • Advocating for the acquisition of services and resources necessary to implement the service plan by representing or defending recipients through direct intervention.
  • Coordinating the delivery of services as specified in the service plan with the help of the recipient, the recipient’s family, and the recipient’s natural support system.
  • Monitoring service delivery to evaluate the recipient’s progress.

Behavior Analysis

  • Monitoring and assessing the recipient’s progress towards goals in the behavior plan
  • Behavior analysis interventions, for example, discrete trial teaching, task analysis training, differential reinforcement, non-contingent reinforcement, conducting task analyses of complex responses, and teaching using chaining, prompting, fading, shaping, response cost, and extinction
  • Training the recipient’s family, caregiver(s), and other involved persons on the implementation of the behavior plan and intervention strategies (the recipient must be present when clinically appropriate)

To receive a comprehensive behavioral health assessment, a recipient must be under the age of 21 years and meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be a victim of abuse or neglect
  • Have been determined by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) or their designee to require out-of-home care or be placed in shelter status

Or the recipient must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Have committed acts of juvenile delinquency
  • Be suffering from an emotional disturbance or a serious emotional disturbance
  • Be at risk for placement in a residential setting
